Facial Dermal Fillers
The history of injectable facial fillers dates back to 1981, where bovine collagen was approved by the FDA for cosmetic injection. Since then vast progress has been made in the cosmetic industry, introducing numerous amounts of dermal fillers which we now use in clinical practice today. Majority of soft tissue dermal fillers available for cosmetic use are made with hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring compound found in our connective tissues throughout our body. The FDA approved soft tissue dermal fillers for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles, volume loss and skin folds.
Here at SarahLouise Aesthetics we pride ourselves on using only premium dermal fillers that not aonly have been FDA approved, but have been through vigorous clinical trials to prove their efficacy and safety. A full consultation is provided when deciding on your dermal filler treatment to determine your suitability for your desired procedure. When considering having dermal fillers it is extremely important to ensure your practitioner is competent in knowing the facial anatomy and vessels to minimize your risk of complications.
The Juvederm and Restylane family of dermal fillers are most commonly used in our clinic. Both ranges are mechanically formulated to achieve different outcomes and are used with varying techniques to achieve different results.
Restylane Lidocaine is designed to create shape and structure in the lips. It is commonly used to contour the lip shape and replace volume loss in the body of the lip. Results are documented to last up to 12 months.
Juvederm Ultra 3
Juvederm Ultra 3 is a cross linked dermal filler, designed to create soft volume to the lips without overloading or creating firm shape and structure. 1ml Juvederm Ultra 3 will provide a subtle change in volume in lips. Results are documented to last up to 6-12 months.
