Laser Hair Removal

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

We use the latest Laser Hair Removal technology to ensure minimal discomfort, reduced sessions and downtime. The system we use combines three wavelengths, proving exceptional results and versatility when compared to a single laser wavelength. This powerful combination of different penetration and absorption levels, combined with the speed of delivery, ensures that you will be receiving one of the safest and most comprehensive hair removal solutions on the aesthetic market.

is the procedure done?

Firstly your skin will be cleansed, and a gel will be applied to the treatment area. The hand held device will glide over the skin, during this process the device penetrates heat into the hair follicle killing off the blood supply, resulting in hair loss. You will be required to wear safety eyewear during the procedure to protect you from the laser. You may also be required to remove any dark items of clothing and tattoos be covered.

How long does the procedure take?

Each treatment area differs in the total procedure time. However, you can expect a full leg treatment to take 60 minutes and an underarm treatment as short as 15 minutes. You will be required to have a patch test before any treatment. This must be done at least 24 hours before treatment.

What is the downtime? Does it hurt?

We advise strictly no heat following your Laser Hair Removal treatment. No sunbeds, sauna’s, hot tubs, or hot bath’s, as these can aggravate the treated site for up to 24 hours. Sun exposure should be avoided following your session for at least 7 days, and we always recommended Alumier Sheer hydration SPF40 on the skin whilst undergoing your treatment. Not following this advice could result in unwanted pigmentation. The treatment is safe and virtually painless. You will feel a warm sensation during the process as the heat increases over each area, however the machine has a cooling feature, assisting the skin to remain cool during your session.

How many sessions will I need? How long does it last?

We always like to be realistic and advise a course of 6 sessions is necessary to be completely hair free.  However as always this can vary from patient to patient. We advise a top up session every 12 months to maintain your results. Results can be seen from the first session and improve throughout your course of treatments. You can continue to shave, however we advise no waxing/threading during your course.
